Denver School of Science and Technology

Denver, CO

The Denver School of Science and Technology (Science & Tech) is located in northeast Denver’s redeveloped Stapleton neighborhood. The school’s 10-acre site was donated by Forest City Enterprises (developers of the former Stapleton airport) in an effort to give back to the community by providing an educational anchor for the neighborhood. The innovative 425-student public charter high school began as a cooperative initiative in 2001 with the support of Governor Bill Owens and the Colorado Small Schools Initiative, and with early funding from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
